Dr. Malcolm Masten didn't want us to sing the Happy Birthday Song even though he is celebrating his (according to him) "thirty-ninth" birthday. We know it's something in excess of eight-nine. Congratulations to a good man.

Guest speaker, Franz Weinschenk, retired Dean of Humanities at Fresno City College, and now associated with the Valley Public Radio's "Valley Writers Read" program, read his own writing about a "special" day at the college.

Marvin Arnold presented a "This is Your Life" program featuring Mary Prezioso ("precious" in Italian) who brought back many memories of Fresno pre 1950.

Dick Arnold, suffering with back pain also bemoans the fact that he offered to pay our guest speaker $64 (remembering the radio program "The Sixty-four Dollar Question" popular in the forties) if she could name the Abbott and Costello movie that was playing at the Fox Wilson theater on December 7, 1941, and she got it right.

Frank Cristando hosted Fresno County Librarian Laurel Prysiazny and Linda Calandra who brought us up to date on the services of our library.
